   OVERSIZED PLAIDS

You can be very creative when hooking with a large plaid.
Cut the colors apart and use each color with deliberate placement.
Or you may cut across all the colors of the plaid and hook longer strips,
 allowing the colors to fall where they may, giving a fabulous texture to large areas, outlines or borders.

Appliqué Squares

I have started my blocks for the wool appliqué lap quilt called "It's a Wonderful World" by Bonnie Sullivan of All Through the Night.
For my background, I am using a hand dyed bundle of Pine Forest that you can order from our page of hand dyed wools.
This pattern calls for  57  - 5" squares for the background.
One of our dyed bundles gives you about 60 squares of this size.

Here we offer un-dyed bundles of squares that make a perfect background for this, or any other, appliqué project.
Please note that this is not a kit.  The appliqués are easily done with from your favorite wool scraps.

57 washed wool squares - greys   $35

Washed and ready to use.
Each piece at least 5" square.
Mix of light to medium greys with a few dark greys included.
The original pattern used grey for the background.
Use these as-is or put the whole bunch in a dye pot!
